About

A puzzle site for people who look twice

Expercepth is a home for visual puzzles: scenes with things hiding in them, shapes that cannot exist, grids to remember and patterns with one piece out of place.
Floating impossible rooms joined by looping staircases, with small objects tucked into corners

Our eyes are quick and confident, and they are wrong more often than we notice. They skip over the key on the patterned rug. They swear two grey squares are different colours. They lose track of the third tile you flipped. Expercepth is built around those small failures, because catching one is a lot of fun.

We publish puzzles and short articles in five families, set in our own world: a twilight house of impossible rooms, where stairs loop back on themselves and something small is always hiding in plain sight.

The five families

  • A busy isometric room with small objects camouflaged among the furniture

    Hidden objects

  • An impossible triangle standing on a warping op-art floor

    Optical illusions

  • A floating grid of match tiles mid-flip

    Memory challenges

  • A tessellated pattern with one glowing missing piece

    Pattern puzzles

  • Two nearly identical rooftop scenes side by side

    Spot the difference

How we make them

01

Fair, then hard

A good puzzle is hard because you have not looked properly yet, not because it cheats. Every answer should feel obvious once you see it.

02

Explain the trick

When an illusion fools you, the article tells you why: what your eyes picked up and what your brain filled in.

03

Short sessions

Most puzzles take a few minutes. Look, find, move on with your day, or stay for one more.
